One of the outcomes of this meeting was an agreement between nine major Australian theatre groups to work together to standardise workplace policies and procedures across the industry. We believe this will help improve familiarity and comfort with appropriate workplace behaviours, procedures and support services among the many independent artists working nationally in our industry. STC has always had job security guidelines, which are constantly reviewed and updated, but with the #metoo movement, we recognize that we could have done better in the past and we look forward to this time as an opportunity to make further positive and lasting change. We recognized the need for a study to identify areas for improvement. Improvements have been introduced and our guidelines and procedures will continue to be evaluated and updated. As Australia`s leading arts organisation, we have a responsibility to our employees and our industry.
